Random Caden Stuff!

Caden just cracks me up sometimes.  I figure I'd better record some of this because I don't want to forget these little "Caden-isms"!  I need to get the video camera out and record some too because I NEVER want to forget his little voice with his "cun-tray" accent!  Funny thing is I have no idea where he gets that country accent ;)

*Our dog, Pacey, has a....uummmm.....gas problem.  I mean he will run you out of the room!  So, Scottie started saying "Yuck Pacey, I can smell your butt".  Now anytime anything stinks....anywhere.....even if the dog is nowhere around, Caden yells out "Yuck, I can smell Pacey's butt"!

*There is a song on the radio (a stupid song) that says something like "rain makes corn, corn makes whiskey, whiskey makes my baby feel a little frisky".  Caden was walking through the house singing it the other day with a minor difference.  He was singing "rain makes corn, corn makes biscuits, biscuits make my baby feel a little frisky"!  I thought it was quite funny!  Then his dad heard him and started making up his own version.  Now they sing "rain makes corn, corn makes biscuits, biscuits make my baby feel a little jiggly".  Crazy boys!
*His favorite song right now is "Smile" by Uncle Kracker.  It's actually really cute.  His favorite part is where it says "you make me dance like a fool, forget how to breathe, shine like gold, buzz like a bee, just the thought of you can drive me wild, ooh you make me smile".  See, I told you it was cute!  Now just imagine a high-pitched little country twang on it and you've got Caden singing!

*He calls Jaxten "my baby".  Anytime someone asks him who he is he says "that's my baby Jaxten".  Or if we have a toy that is Jaxten's he says "that's my baby's toy".  He's such a great big brother!

*If you mention baseball or ask him what he wants to be when he grows up he'll say "I want to play baseball!  It's my dream!"  The kid already has a 'dream' at 4 years old!  Keep reaching Caden and don't ever let go of your dreams!

*My mom has a bad habit of getting aggravated at something and saying "Uggh, Lord Jesus".  So of course Caden has picked it up.
(**Sidenote: Did you know that a 4 year olds ears have very special capabilities that allow them to hear all the words or phrases that you don't want repeated, but when you call their name or ask them to do something they can't hear a thing!)
Well, he was walking through the house the other day and something made him mad and he shouted "Lord Jesus!"  I said "Caden, we do not say that.  That is very ugly.  You need to say Oh man if you must shout something."  Before I could even get done speaking he said "mom...I was not talking to you, I was talking to Jesus!" and rolled his eyes and huffed and puffed off into the other room.

*Caden is now in the King's Kids program in our church and they learned a song several weeks ago that had the word "Hallelujah" in it.  Caden was just singing along and we kept wondering what he was saying.  Turns out he can't exactly say hallelujah.  He says "Halle-yu-lah"!  It is absolutely adorable though!

Something to chew on, (or maybe gum on!)

My little man Jaxten turned 4 months old July 6th.

Which in case you haven't realized yet

That is ONE THIRD OF A YEAR OLD!

OMW, I'll have a toddler before you know it.

Anyway, back to the matter at hand.  Little man has started watching us very intently while we eat.  He'll watch your fork move from the plate to your mouth and then stare you straight in the face.  He will then commence to drooling and chewing on his fingers.  Poor thing, all he gets is my milk which has no taste and formula which doesn't taste good.  So, I decided we would try some cardboard flakes rice cereal.  Just mix a little bit of the cereal with some of mommy's milk and you get a bowl of tasteless baby goodness I guess.

Yuummmmmm!  This is pretty good stuff mom! (I'm thinking yuck, gag a maggot!)

(I'll try to add a picture if/when I find them!)

Overall he did pretty well with it though.  I mixed it quite runny to begin with but I had to thicken it a little.  He opens his little mouth like a baby bird.  It's the cutest thing!  I can't wait to give him some baby food and stuff with flavor!  It's so exciting all over again.

Roley Poley Baby!

It's official.  When you put Jaxten down somewhere, there is a very good chance he won't be in that same place for long!  Thursday night we had him laying on our bed on his back and he flipped right over to his belly.  We were clapping and jumping and I'm sure he thought we had done lost our minds!  Then, my mom called me at work Monday and asked which way he was rolling.  When I told her it was from his back to his belly, she said "Well, he just rolled from his belly to his back".

YAY!!!!!

(Dang, I missed it.)

I sure do hate to be at work instead of watching all the great things my little man is doing, but at the same time I'm very grateful to have a job in this world today.

And I have the smartest baby in the world!  At least he is to me!

Jaxten is 4 months old!

Jaxten, you are 4 months old!

You are learning so much and growing stronger everyday!  Here are some fun facts about you this month!

*We didn't go to the doctor this month but I imagine you are getting close to 15lb at least!

*You are still in a size 2 diaper! (For now!)

*You are wearing mostly 3-6mth clothes with a few 0-3mth still mixed in!

*You eat 4-5oz of mommy's milk and/or formula every 2-4 hours during the day.  We are going to start rice cereal very soon!  You watch us when we eat.  You follow the fork from our plate to our mouth and it's almost pitiful to see you open your little mouth like you want some too!  It's coming very soon though!

*You are a great sleeper!  You still sleep 6-8 hours at night and then go back to sleep for another 3 hours after you eat.  You take several naps during the day, but you are awake for up to 2 hours at a time in between naps!

*You have really started chewing on your fingers (and anything else you can get in your mouth)!  Everyone thinks you are teething but I'm not so sure.

*We went to hear The Rochesters sing this month.  It was your first time (the first of many)!  They are mommy and daddy's favorite bluegrass gospel group. (besides our own group of course)  ;)

*You have started staying with Tiffani, our pastor's daughter, on Friday's.  She loves to keep you.  She plays with you, sings to you and even naps with you.  She loves to give you a bath and spike your hair up afterward!  It's very cute!

*We all went to a Winston-Salem Dash baseball game July 2nd.  You did so good.  You were awake the whole time and never made a sound.  You were just watching everything that was going on.

*At the end of the Dash game they had a fireworks show.  We were really nervous how you would react to the noise but it didn't phase you a bit!  In fact, you fell asleep halfway through!  We went to see fireworks again on July 4th and you did great.  This time you actually watched them.  You were completely mesmerized the whole time!

Happy 4th of July!

This year July 4th was on a Sunday, so we went somewhere great!!

To church!!

We were all decked out in our Red, White and Blue attire.  I thought we looked rather festive.  We had a wonderful service at church Sunday morning, and they cancelled the service for that night.  So we all went to main street in Lewisville where they have music and food and FiReWoRkS of course!!!  We had a great time.  I think it was quite possibly the best fireworks show I've ever seen!  Caden loved it and Jaxten even watched them.

I don't have any pictures from that night, but here we are before we went to church.

(Really mad at my camera for taking blurry pictures lately)

My 3 boys :)

We hardly ever get pictures of all 4 of us together.  I need some kind of photo shop program so I can paste all 4 of us together!

They melt my heart!

~The only thing that could have made this day better would have been some campfire S'mores!~

Jaxten is 3 months old!

Jaxten, you are 3 months old!

You are laughing and smiling and it just makes me want to melt into a puddle in the floor!  Here are some fun facts about you this month!

*You weigh 12lb 12oz and you are 23 1/4in long! (May 17th)

*You are in a size 2 diaper and it's all because of those chunky little legs!

*You wear a good mixture of 0-3mth and 3-6mth clothes.

*You eat about every 2 1/2-3 hours during the day.  You eat 2-3oz at a time in your bottle and it's mostly mommy's milk with a little bit of formula now and then.

*You are still sleeping great!  You sleep anywhere from 6-9 hours at a time each night!  You still take several naps during the day too, but you are staying awake for longer periods.

*We went to the RCR race shop for Caden's birthday party.  You weren't really interested in the race cars, but you enjoyed watching all the kids running around playing.  The highlight of the day for you was when pawpaw gave you a taste of vanilla ice cream which you LOVED!!

*We went to the zoo for the first time on Caden's birthday!  You slept in the stroller the ENTIRE TIME until the last 20 minutes.  You woke up in time for us to take a couple of pictures in front of the giraffes and zebras and then went back to sleep in the car on the way home.

*You got 3 shots at the dr's office this month and you SCREAMED.  It was so pitiful.  It made mommy cry too :'(

*You really do not like to ride in the car.  If you are awake, you will cry the whole time we are in there!  That's exactly opposite of how Caden was.  If he was fussy or fighting sleep we could ride him around the block and he would go right to sleep.  Not you!  And if you are asleep in the car and we stop at a stoplight or go through a drive-thru, you will wake up and cry every time!

*You started really laughing and cackling this month!  It makes my heart leap to hear you laugh!

*I had to go back to work May 28th :(  so you began to stay with mimi and granny during the day.  You have adjusted really well, but I think you still miss me!  I know I miss you like crazy!

Boogity, boogity, boogity!

Scottie has been dying to take Caden to a real Nascar race pretty much since he was born, but definitely since he's gotten so into racing lately.  So, of course we figured they would go to a Charlotte race but the Coca-Cola 600 is the LONGEST RACE EVER and we thought Caden would get bored or go to sleep before it was over.  So they decided to go to the Allstar Race.  Scottie and Caden took off on Saturday morning and spent the whole day down there.  Jaxten and I didn't go because I think it might be too loud for Jaxten's little ears!  Because we have so many people from our family in the racing industry, they were able to get Pit and Garage passes and they saw everything!!  Caden had a ball and he can't wait to go again!

This is when they first came in.  They asked someone to take a picture of them together.  (Don't have a clue what kind of car this is?  Pink with rainbows and kittens???)

Caden in front of his favorite car, Kevin Harvick!  Everyone thought Kevin Harvick might be leaving RCR because his contract was up.  But they had a big announcement that day at the track.  Harvick was re-signed that day which makes us all very happy.  Caden doesn't have to switch favorites, and we've spent a lot of money on #29 cars for him!

In front of the Kevin Harvick car in the garage.  The teams usually won't let you get too close to the cars.  They have the area around them roped off and you can stand outside the rope and look.  But almost every time that Caden walked up to a car, they would let him go right up and touch the car and walk all around it!   Someone from Harvick's team even gave Caden a tire changing socket thingy!  He was just walking around talking to everyone.  They would ask him questions about cars and drivers and he knew his stuff!  Must have thought he was cute or something!

Caden with the tool box for Jeff Burton.  Paw paw also helps with this car too.

Jimmie Johnson's trailer!!  Go #48, WOOHOO!!
(Disclaimer: The opinions expressed under this picture DO NOT represent the opinions of Caden or Scottie!)
Every time Caden walked up to a new car he would say "Wow! That's a cool paint scheme!" or "Look dad, that one looks different".  But when he went to see Jimmie Johnson's car, he walked around it and the crew chief came over and said "So what do you think?"  Caden replied "It's just the same ol' car.  All the other cars have different paint today.  Why didn't you do different paint?".   They got a kick out of that!

Sitting on a monster truck tire.  He likes monster trucks too, just not as much as race cars!

This was a Troops Edition F150 truck that was on display.
GO USA!

Caden sitting in a Legends car.

This is so funny and cute.
These are the earphones that you can tune in to different drivers and hear them talking with the crew chiefs.  I think Caden was tuned in to Kevin most of the night.

I can't even tell who's what in this picture, but I thought I should put one of the actual race in here for effect :)

Unfortunately, Kurt Busch won that night.  Kevin Harvick came in 6th, Jr came in 12th, and Jimmie Johnson came in 13th.  But Caden had the best time and that's what matters!
